Christopher S. Ketcherside, M.D. is a surgeon specializing in cataract and premium lens implant surgery, cornea disorders, cornea transplant surgery, and refractive and LASIK surgery. He has been at the Kansas City Eye Clinic since 2009.
Dr. Ketcherside received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Missouri. His ophthalmology residency was performed at the University of Virginia after which he completed his training with a Fellowship at the renowned Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute at the University of Colorado. Dr. Ketcherside’s extensive training was focused on cornea and refractive surgery. His practice custom tailors every surgical procedure to individual patient needs. Johann G. Ohly, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist, specializing in glaucoma, cataracts, and general ophthalmology. He has been a practicing ophthalmologist since 2008, and with Kansas City Eye Clinic since 2015.
After attending college and medical school at the University of Chicago, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago in 2007, and a glaucoma fellowship at University Eye Specialists in 2008. Dr. Ohly is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society.
Dr. Ohly, an early proponent of laser assisted cataract surgery, has years of experience performing thousands of cataract procedures using this precision technology. Dr. Ohly also utilizes a diverse array of glaucoma surgical procedures, including multiple minimally-invasive approaches.
Fred S. Bodker, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in oculoplastics, which includes eyelid, tear duct, orbital, and cosmetic eye surgery, as well as reconstructive surgery and general ophthalmology. He has been at the Kansas City Eye Clinic for over 25 years.
Dr. Bodker received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, where he was a Phi Beta Kappa, and his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. He completed an internal medicine internship at Northwestern University, and an ophthalmology residency and an ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago under the direction of Dr. Allen Putterman. He was accepted for membership in the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, an honor society of approximately 450 surgeons, in 1996. One of the few fellowship-trained plastic and reconstructive eye surgeons in Kansas City, Dr. Bodker is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Aaron Florkowski, M.D. has been in practice for over 10 years and has performed thousands of LASIK and stitchless cataract procedures. He is licensed in the states of Kansas and Missouri and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He owns his ophthalmology practice, Sharper Vision Medical/Surgical Eyecare.
Dr. Florkowski is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. While there he was honored with membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha medical society, an accolade bestowed on only the top medical students. He then studied eye surgery at the prestigious Eye Foundation of Kansas City, where the initial clinical trials for the excimer laser and LASIK in the United States were conducted.
Kristin S. Biggerstaff, M.D., M.S. is a glaucoma fellowship trained surgeon specializing in cataract surgery, glaucoma laser and surgery. She has been with the Kansas City Eye Clinic since 2022.
She received her undergraduate degree at Andrews University, and medical degree from Loma Linda University in southern California. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, and completed her glaucoma fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in 2013. She spent the next nine years at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Hospital in Houston, Texas where she also served as an Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine. During that time she received a Masters in Clinical Investigation and helped train over 50 ophthalmology residents and fellows in the clinic and operating room, who now practice all over the United States. She received several research grants, and has co-authored twelve peer-reviewed research papers and a book chapter. Her areas of expertise include general ophthalmology, cataract surgery, and glaucoma treatment.
